The chicks hatched

All of them! All six. How brilliant. Sorry, pics are terrible, it's incredibly bright outside and I didn't want to take them away from mum for their photo opportunity!
When you think about it, it's amazing really. I mean I bought these eggs off the internet, then they had to be posted up to me before I could put them under Elizabeth. ( Our couriers up here are lovely guys, but rough as rough with whatever's being posted. I've lost count of the things we've had arrive broken, and eggs, due to the fantastic packaging of the seller, made it in one piece.)
Pretty good going.
Two Light Sussex, two silver laced Wyandottes and two gold laced Wyandottes.
Elizabeth has done so well, sitting tight all this time. She's looking a little rough round the edges now, so she'll get lots of feeding up with the chick crumbles as well. She deserves it!

I think this is a gold laced one? or a silver laced one! No idea, really. I don't care :) It's just gorgeous!

this is a light sussex.

I am chuffed to bits. Keep all your fingers crossed for a good girl/boy ratio this time, definitely deserve it after the last lot!

  7. Too cute. I am a bit jealous though, I have been dreaming of chickens for a year now. Good luck with the ratio.

  9. yeh! I am so happy - I keep going back to see them! There's definitely 2 light sussex and 3 wyandottes of some sort and one other that looks nothing like the rest! seller said they are all kept separate though. Don't care, 6 heathy bubs is all good in my book!

  12. Sorry Dawn, it's Autumn here, I live at the bottom of the world! :) It's very very mild though so they won't get cold, we rarely even get a frost in mid winter!
