With apologies to all my Uk friends and family...

When I typed this at 10am it was already almost 30 degrees and 80% humidity.

The cicadas were making a right racket

It's too hot to sit outside, and I'm having to water everything that's in pots.

We haven't had rain for almost 5 weeks.

There's a fire ban.

If we don't get rain very soon I can only assume there will be an official drought.

Oh yeah! Summer's well and truly here.

The grass in the yard is all going brown.

However, if I'm being totally honest, much that I love all this sun and summer, I really do envy you all the snow. Honest! I do.

I'm over it too, actually I was over it weeks ago. Here in northern NSW, Aust, we haven't had a day in the 20's for a while, most days it has been high 30's and some in the 40's thrown in, and all with high humidity. Most afternoons a thunderstorm forms and goes right past us, with a few showers sometimes. My vegie garden is being nursed along but I have lost a lot of stuff. I will be so thankful when it finally does rain (if it remembers what to do!LOL).

I keep telling my husband we need another house in the northern hemisphere so we can go there in our summer, but he doesn't think that is the anwer Men LOL. Louise

    1. I'm not over it :) I just think it would be good if we got some rain :)
We're very lucky, as because we have a farm, we have a water easement which means we can get water from the stream. We can also top up our water tank which is so lucky.

  3. Hang in there and I hope you get some rain soon. Ours has started in the last couple of days courtesy of the cyclone a bit further north. It's so lovely to sit here and listen to the rain on the roof. Yours will come :)

    1. It's odd, because today the sky has been very black every so often, and the met service did say we would perhaps get a shower this afternoon. Its tea time now, and nothing!

  6. I just found your blog and really enjoyed it. Great pictures. We were in drought 2 years ago and it was tough. Lots of rain this winter, all liquid, no flakes.
