A great wee find...
For yonks I've just been keeping my eye out for a crocheted blanket to use as a snuggle up on the sofa during winter evenings. I often look at TradeMe ( NZ ebay) but haven't found exactly what I fancy. Well today we were just driving to town and got to the junction of our own village. Taiamai Day is today and there are wee stalls, barbeques, bands, bouncy castle, you know the kind of thing. And right at the junction was a table and on that table was the blanket! We stopped the car and I bolted out clutching $30 and hoping it was less. I asked the lady and she said...wait for it... $2!!!
Whooo hoo!
 Made my day.

ETA last night during Earth Hour we sat out on the deck watching the stars - I was all wrapped up in my new blanket and it was lovely - it's first outing!

  4. Do you know, I do feel a bit guilty. I should have given the lady more. It's real wool, as well, it even has that authentic musty smell!!

  6. Most excellent!
I love crocheted blankets and I have a ton of them, literally, I cannot walk by one without buying it. I always imagine some little old lady loving making them for her family and then I must buy it, every time... I am a sucker!

My aunty in England used to crochet us all sorts of things. I remember she made me a lovely pink dress when I was a kid (OK it WAS the 70s!!!!)
We always had the multicoloured crocheted bedspreads.
