Birthdays and friends
It was actually my brother's birthday yesterday, but I had to raise my glass in an 'absent friends' toast as he's on the other side of the world. ( did you get the pressie, joff?)
This dinner was our weekly winter 'soup and sandwiches' night that we've been doing with Nick and Sara for 5 years. But tonight a few others were there too, Simon and Alison and Chelsea and Dustin, and it was Simon's birthday so Lloyd made Scotch Broth and steak sandwiches and I made a cupcake birthday cake.

We had to take the big outside table in as we wouldn't have fitted round our small one!

  3. Looks like great fun! A cup-cake cake is a good idea. Quick and easy and everyone gets equal shares (unless they have seconds mmmmmm!)

  4. Yum Yum Yum, we too had steak sandwiches for tea on Saturday before going to see Jamie Cullum at the Usher Hall, they were so nice, Dexter and I had them again tonight with a wee side salad - no cup cakes or soup with them though so clearly you had the far superior spread and definitely so when it came to the table setting as we just ate them in front of the telly watching Dr Who!
