"The man from DelMonte (Lloyd) he says YES"
Was this just a UK advert or does anyone else know what Im talking about?
Anyway, meet Lloyd's presents! Aren't they gorgeous! They're really young just now, all just weeks old and we can't get them until they're 6 months so we should get them home in about May.
We're getting them from Naturally Alpacas which is less than 10 minutes from our house. Steve and Christine have been incredibly helpful already. I'm doing a felting morning there on the 18th of December, I know there are places left so if any Northlanders fancy it we could go together.
I secretly love this one.
We've been reading up on them and how to look after them, learning about rye grass staggers and facial eczema and how to avoid these and also lots of nice things too!
You will love felting, it really gets you hooked. I'm so glad you are going to a workshop, (Lots of fun.)
ReplyDeletehow sweet.
ReplyDeleteNot seen that advert for a long time though!
We have an alpaca farm right down the stree,"Kings Hwy Alpacas". We can see the sign from our house. It's so neat to see them out and about, especially when they have had their babies and the little ones are running around. They have two great watch dogs, too, though I can't remember the breed. It's specific for doing that kind of job. Enjoy your new presents!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSo super cute! I helped sheer a bunch of alpacas one year and they are incredibly cute and lovely creatures! I'm excited for you about this new venture :)
ReplyDeleteOh I am so jealous--I would love to have alpacas. We just have no more land and no more barn. These are beautiful babies. I bet you are so excited. Wonderful fiber--so you are learning to spin? That is great :) Just look so forward to reading about these great creatures in the future.
ReplyDeleteAmy :)
