Some of us in the southern hemisphere, who are used to winter christmases, have a wee second christmas in June, when it's as cold as it gets here. Today is our mid-winter celebration. We're having dinner with friends, there'll be turkey and all the trimmings, wee secret santa gifts and even a christmas tree!
Merry mid-winter Christmas!!
ReplyDeleteWhat can I say - Merry Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHope you all a wonderful time...and I'm very jealous...two Christmasses you lucky folk!!

How fun! And what a great idea to chase away the cold, dreary winter! I love Christmas but could certainly do without the cold! *brrrr*
ReplyDeleteI think I could deal only with one Christmas a year myself. Some of our local craft and hobby stores have Christmas deco already out and for sale. Too early for me!
ReplyDeleteWhat a neat idea...Merry Day to you :)
ReplyDeleteWell it was absolutely lovely! It's the most christmassy I've felt in all the time we've been here. IT was a nice cold night, the fire was lit, the Christmas tree lights were twinkling and we had the best company and the tastiest Christmas dinner! The cooks excelled themselves.
ReplyDeleteHappy Christmas! I heart your felt hearts!
ReplyDeleteYou can never have too many occasions to gather with those you care about to share in fun and food! What a grand idea.
ReplyDeleteHave a festive, joyous time!
(And I am curious: How cold is the coldest part of your winter? Does it snow?)
Well, we're sub tropical, being right at the top of NZ. So it never snows ( pity as I love snow) we're on a plane so in a year we have perhaps 2 incredibly light frosts that don't really cover much at all. Coastal areas will never get anything near a frost Temp wise it gets down to 5~ 6 degrees at night. Day time temps regularly 17 ish. But it can rain...boy can it rain!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy Mid-winter!
