New garden toy...

While I absolutely love My best gardening tool in the world I've noticed that when I'm weeding quite a lot of soil comes out with the weeds. I can't really spare that much soil as my raised beds are not all that raised! So I decided I 'needed' a garden sieve. I remember when I was young dad had a round one he used all the time - or I remember it as all the time. I found one online - not from  garden shop as these were all terribly expensive - but from a trader on Trademe.
It arrived incredibly quickly and it's exactly what I was looking for.

I had wee piles of weeds that I'd left in the corners of the veggie beds for a few days to dry out. I sieved them all this morning and it works a treat! All that went into the compost were weeds - weeds and no soil! yippee!
I can tell this is going to be invaluable.

This is what I was left with after sieving - perfect!

Oh you'll be pleased to hear that Mavis's bottom is doing well - no pecks and her feathers are coming through nicely.
Not so great news on my shoulder - got ultrasound and x ray today - the ligament is torn - even I could clearly see the hole on the ultrasound - AND there's some calcification. So these results are being sent to my doctor and he'll tell me where to go from here. I'm sad.

My dad had a battered, round garden sieve and I have often thought it would be a good investment for me.
