Look carefully, can you see a teeny tiny pin sized man up this tree? I can't really, and I know where he is! Anyway, I can assure you there is one there.
Our lovely neighbours ( Frank that found Banana for us) are having a few huge trees felled this morning. Frank asked us if we wanted to come over for a look as it was all pretty exciting. Not one to turn down something 'pretty exciting' Lloyd and I headed over. And he was right, it is - Pretty exciting!
And they've got a rather lovely winter's day for it too.
This photo shows the man more clearly. He's well roped on in various places, but there is nothing in this world that could get me up there.
He's just up there, chainsawing away, quite the thing, not a care in the world. Totally calm and relaxed, by the looks of things. There are three of these trees and they just come down bit by bit.
Here's a branch coming down. To give an idea of scale that branch is actually like a big tree!
Oh! There goes another one!
That is one cool, calm and collected chap. Wonder if he looks forward to going work each morning?
I don't have the stomach for that kind of work, get frightened at heights. Yikes
ReplyDeleteoh me too, there is no way on earth you'd get me up there.
DeleteI don't know if I could even watch. I know they're professionals but I would be scared he'd fall. That's a huge tree.
ReplyDeleteIt was actually quite nerve racking
DeleteGive me my two feet on the ground and I'm happy.
ReplyDeleteHugs
yep, I don't even like flying!
DeleteTree fellers indeed! There's only one!!
ReplyDeleteAye, but there was a whole heap of them on the ground!!
DeleteI love climbing trees but not with a chainsaw lol
ReplyDeleteyeah, and that chainsaw was cutting terribly close to his head!
DeleteI think I'd certainly like to watch that action, but, like you, I'd prefer to stay a little closer to the earth!
ReplyDeletethey're still at it today - I think they're just moving and chopping up the trees. I can't see anyone way up high.
DeleteWhat huge trees! What are they?
ReplyDeletethey are humungous poplars, the kinds that put all the white fluffy seeds all over the place!
DeleteWowee!! That one branch really was the size of a tree! Poplars right? Whats that red leafed tree in the first picture? It looks very pretty.
ReplyDelete-Carlos Hernandez
yeah, Poplars :) there's a lot of them round all these farms. I think the red leafed one is a liquid amber? So, do you go up that high?? x
