Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens...

Well, almost.

I was just opening the curtains in the livingroom when I looked out the window and saw a spiders web glowing in the sun and covered in dew. Bearing in mind I wasn't dressed I almost did well, by chucking some clothes on and ramming my feet into wellington boots, and getting out... just as the sun went and the drizzle began! Sooo Close.
They're not nearly as sparkly as they were a couple of minutes beforehand but still quite beautiful. The spiders must have been busy last night.

We've got several magnolias in the garden. I can't remember what this one is called but it smells quite amazing, sort of lemony. The white petals have come off this flower.

Pretty cool.

Now back in the real world... I'm off to tidy the house, speak to my mum on the web cam, put a load of washing on and get ingredients together for dinner tonight - I cook on Thursdays and Fridays ( poor Lloyd ) I won't tell you what we're having as he'll see this and I want it to be a surprise!

Great pictures. We have had some incredible spider webs here - so big. I never thought to take a picture - you are a clever girl.

  4. Liking your new layout and your profile pic. Very swish. And I meant to answer you ages ago about elder cuttings. If you have any still lying about do you think you could poke them in the ground in a spare corner somewhere and see if they sprout?

  5. Beautiful photos and how awesome to capture that moment. I love the magnolias---always such a beautiful contrast against the dark green of the leaves--we have them here in the south of the US too! :)

  6. Lovely photos - thank you. Wouldn't like to meet the manufacturer of the webs - Scottish spiders are enough for me :-) Jo

  7. Something so incredible about the makings of spiderwebs - gypsies used them to seal wounds. Beautiful photos. Ducks are wonderful weeders, just have to keep them away from the veggie patch. We have many ducks, geese and chickens.
