It's finished.

After a good old charge over night the drill was working and I managed to get the last of the holes drilled. Lots of sanding, a coat of white paint, a coat of coastal blue, lots more sanding and a wax and it's done! I'm well chuffed with it. Ok it's a bit rustic, but I've never made anything like this before, I'm more of a sewer...Mmmmm I see future presents...

After a couple of coats of paint

After sanding and waxing!

I think the ends are a little bit big and when L brings home my jigsaw I'll take a little out of the bottom of them.

Now I'm off to batten down the hatches. It's a stunning morning, calm, blue skies, warm, but supposedly the mother of all storms is heading our way so best be prepared. Chances are we'll have a spell of no power this weekend.

That's so pretty - clever thing!
Good luck with the storm - I read in our Brisbane paper that there was a bad one on the way. The weather is just flat out weird lately isn't it.
