That's a relief. I was going to say you might have had a stoat. We lost some baby chicks to stoats one year it was awful. But yes the hawks are pretty good at taking them too.
I'm so happy they're home. I think what's happened is the other broody duck has adopted them and they have been with her down in her nest - her nest is totally invisible, right in the middle of the bonfire so even though I'd checked down there I couldn't see far enough in!
Glad your ducks are home and so glad I found your blog. It is beautiful and visually grabbed me. I love the spider web in the header too. Can't wait to read more. Amy :)
