Christmas Parade

Just home from the Christmas parade and it was brilliant. for a small town Kerikeri sure knows how to put on a great show. The streets were absolutely packed with people out enjoying the sun and the atmosphere. There were lots of floats again this year. Here's a selection of everyone taking part. Not a flake of snow to be seen!

  1. It looks very exotic to see palm trees and folks wearing summer clothes to a Christmas parade! We are marching with Zach's Boy Scout Troop in a local Christmas parade on Sunday, where the temps will be in the upper 30's(degrees) with wind, which will bring the temps down to the lower 30's. So it will be winter coats and mittens here in New Hampshire! No snow yet, though.

What a great parade! Lots of floats and people. No snow, that's a good thing. Probably wasn't any snow at the first one either, LOL. Have a great weekend!

  5. Was lovely wasn't it? Very busy, but lovely. The oldest 2 kiddos were on the Lions float, they were the superheroes. P.S. Making feta today!

  6. Pippa, how is the cheese you made at the course? lloyds gouda is beginning to look like a thick camembert and the camembert is looking rather slimy and not at all great. He's at a bit of a loss what to do with it!

Parade was lovely, I think I love it even more than the kids!

Christmas parades are always so much fun. This one looks great even if there is no snow.

  8. Cool Christmas parade! We usually make the Waipu one on Christmas Eve, it's great fun :)

Look at your clear blue sky...it's been raining down here all day! Most peculiar!

  9. Pippa, i have a nice pic of the super hero float - if you didn't get any I could email it to you. I didn't put it on the blog cos there are only a few of them rather than a whole crowd!

Fi, Christmas eve would be so much better than the 4th!! I wish our one was later. We've been cloudy here today - very humid though - but still no rain. Desperate for some.
