Jacaranda

Ours always flowers round about Christmas. I love it. We planted another one down at The Acorn, but so far it hasn't flowered yet, hopefully in the next couple of years it'll start.

They must do well up here as this area is awash with purple flowers just now ~ so pretty.

Rainy, red sunflowers.
Once the heads have dried out I'll do a post with my email address. If you want seeds email me your postal address and I'll send you some. I should have about 20 gazillion!

Lloyd's mum and dad arrived safe and sound. We had a lovely meal last night and it's just great to have them here. They actually leave 2 days later than I thought - yippee! So that means they will be here for the Kaikohe A&P show and (hopefully) the chick hatching. Ah the excitement .

I just spied Lloyd walking past with a tree looking like something out of Birnham Wood! Guess I better go and help him plant it!

  2. We have a gorgeous pohutakawa as well, but it's in a different area of the garden and there's not room beside it to plant a jacaranda :( - but yes stunning clashy colours! I'm going to look out to see if there's anywhere that there are 2 next to eachother :)

  3. Gorgeous Laura, I have one as a street tree out side my home, and we planted another down the back two years ago...they look fabulous with the purple agapanthas, and my blue plumbago...
In Adelaide, we have streets and streets of these trees...it looks magnificent...the council planted them as street trees in lots of suburbs...I meant to grab my camera on the school run but forgot...and then of course it all drops and is finished for another year...enjoy its beautiful colour...x

Spectacular jacaranda - I suspect it might not flower in Scotland at Christmas, and wonder if it would flower/survive at all. I must look into this as it is just the thing for my small front garden, if it would survive :-)
