...in good old fashioned super8! With me wittering on in the background!
I should say, the soil is actually brown, lovely brown, volcanic soil - not red like it looks in this! It is, however, as parched as it looks in this!
I also realised that you can't actually see many of the veggies! Ho hum!
Oh and don't you just love the silence of the countryside - cicadas making an almighty din, ducks quacking very loudly and the chickens clucking away! What a racket!

Thanks for the tour. I can hear the sprinklers and someone in the distance with a chain saw....it is never quiet...even in the country. The goats and chickens are having a nap at the moment.
ReplyDeleteHazel, that racket in the background is the cicadas! They are so noisy.
ReplyDeleteLooks nice an orderly! I've just been out tying up my unruly tomatoes (some of them anyway), have been a bit tardy at keeping them under control I think the cages are probably the best solution.
ReplyDeleteDidn't realise you can still put in broad beans or are they just to feed the soil?
Wow, what fun, thanks Laura!
ReplyDeleteBridget, you can, and for eating! I did it last year for the first time just as an experiment really - they do take longer to pod up but we were feasting on them all autumn and into winter.
ReplyDeleteThis was where my garlic was planted and I was going to let it lie but then thought NAH! I'll plant beans.
I love the ducks in the background, I've never heard such enthusiastic quacking!
ReplyDeleteLaura ~ Thank you for that wonderful little tour. The peace and quiet of the country is something we crave. Right now at 6:15 a.m. there is traffic racing by on the highway out front as people head off to work and school. We have cicadas in the summer, and birdsong most of the year. Your place is really lovely and peaceful. I love the ducks quacking.

So nice to see your garden. And the ducks! Love the quacking.
ReplyDeleteI absolutely love your blog! Makes me so happy to read it. Terrific! Gives me inspiration and renewed enthusiasm for my small Aussie garden! Thanks!!
ReplyDeleteI am so excited each spring to plant my garden and by the middle of summer I'm disheartened because the heat has withered most of it. Yours actually looks pretty good. I love the sounds of the ducks quacking and of the chickens.
ReplyDeleteWhat a gorgeous garden! Love it.
