Even after 4 years of keeping chickens I still find it exciting to collect their eggs, even more so if they're still warm. There is something really comforting about holding a warm egg in your hand on a cold ( well, as cold as it gets!) morning.
This is Gertrude's egg. Buttercup and Abagail are also laying. Good girls.
I agree 100%, nothing beats a warm egg in your hand, straight from under a hen on a winters day!
ReplyDeleteIt is lovely isnt it...I always think it is like finding treasure...Audrey and Mavis are being good girls and have begun laying, I almost have a dozen beautiful brown eggs ...how lucky is that! No eggs from the supermarket this week..fantastic.
