Still warm...

Even after 4 years of keeping chickens I still find it exciting to collect their eggs, even more so if they're still warm. There is something really comforting about holding a warm egg in your hand on a cold ( well, as cold as it gets!) morning.
This is Gertrude's egg. Buttercup and Abagail are also laying. Good girls.

  1. I agree 100%, nothing beats a warm egg in your hand, straight from under a hen on a winters day!

  2. It is lovely isnt it...I always think it is like finding treasure...Audrey and Mavis are being good girls and have begun laying, I almost have a dozen beautiful brown eggs lucky is that! No eggs from the supermarket this week..fantastic.

  3. Oooo Yeah! Nothing better than a warm googie egg laid by someone you know. Mmmm!

  4. Great photo! I wish we could have chickens.

  5. How fabulous. Chooks is one of our next projects. Can't wait.

  6. I'm just catching up on my blog reading. Love this post. So simple and so comforting. I too can't get over the wonderful gifts I get.

I love it when you leave me comments, it lets me know there are folk out there reading my ramblings! Thank you, I appreciate them loads and loads
