Blue's coloured Thursdays

Do ducks understand the concept of camouflage? I think not. Most of my ducks lay their eggs in the middle of the grass. This means that if I'm not up before some possum, hawk of some sort, cat, dog etc I don't have a hope of collecting the eggs.
Would this not be better, ducks?
MMmmm then again, how would I find them?

How about this?
Perhaps the freakishness of it would scare off anything except me! Oh and it would look pretty cool, too.

(with apologies for the shocking photoshop skills!)

  1. Surprising that they manage to hatch! Like the camouflage version, maybe they do do this and that is how they hatch, the rest they assume you are after and they do say the early bird catches the! Love this.

  2. Oh Joanna, these are the ones they want me to get! The ones they want to hatch are hidden somewhere! I found a nest of them in the veggie garden a couple of days ago, and now I have a missing duck - I know shes got a nest somewhere, but they really hide them so well! First I'll know about it is when she appears with babies!

  8. This had me laughing out loud. I don't even look for our duck eggs anymore. I find them in various piles of hay in various barns, but our ducks have turned kinda feral, sleeping out in the trees by the pond at night. Rogue ducks! So I kind of wish mine laid fluorescent pink eggs! Haha!
